Transitional Housing That Restores Stability and Hope
Our Impact
In the last 18 months, 18 Folsom residents have transitioned out of homelessness into stable and safe housing - for a total of 18 people who changed their circumstances at the remarkably low cost of less than $7,900 per person annually.
Folsom residents want us to expand our capacity, and with the building project at Oak Hills Church, we will increase the number of people we can help per year.
Our progress reflects the power of community support, compassion, consistency, and our clients' willingness to work hard. We're encouraged by the commitment of everyone who is a part of HART and remain committed to deep, sustainable change.

Learn About Our Transitional Housing Program:
In November 2018, HART of Folsom launched a transformative transitional housing program aimed at helping individuals transition out of homelessness to stability – and ultimately, to thriving lives as contributing members of our community. This program goes beyond shelter: each participant works one-on-one with HART’s professional case managers to address underlying issues contributing to their homelessness, create personal goals, and access vital resources on their path to independence.
Now we’re taking that mission even further!
In the 2023-24 school year, 73 students at Folsom Lake College -nearly 1% of the student body- reported experiencing homelessness. while temporary hotel stays provided by the college offer a short-term solution, they fall short of the long-term stability students need to succeed. That’s why HART of Folsom partnered with Folsom Lake College to launch a long-term housing referral program tailored specifically for unhoused students. Thanks to a generous donation of land from Oak Hills Church, we’ve begun planning Folsom’s first housing village for students experiencing homelessness.
This village will be more than a roof over their heads—it will be a launchpad for their future.
As a non-profit charitable organization, HART is raising funds to bring this vision to life—housing for students who are working hard to achieve their educational goals and change the trajectory of their lives. With support from dedicated case managers, each student will have the tools they need to move forward with hop and purpose.
Help us turn this vision into a reality. Your support provides housing, hope, and a future for young people in our community.

Together, the vision for a student village in Folsom is coming to life because of the generosity of our community. To date, HART has raised the funds for site preparation and two housing units.
Will you consider helping us fund the remaining two housing units? Every dollar makes a difference.
